GOVERNMENT BAILOUTS!

Every time I turn around the government is bailing out some industry so they don't go out of business. I get taxed more and more, I have to live on a smaller budget because the government has decided that I should pay for poorly managed businesses. If the mom and pop store down the street hits hard times and goes out of business there is no bailout for them, so why do the mega companies get bailed out ... lobbyist! They know how to grease the hands of politicians and they get these huge bailouts in return. Did any airline CEO loose his house when he drove the business into bankruptcy? NO! Only the "little people" or as I call them, employees, who relied on senior management to make sound decisions, lost their homes. Did my neighbor who ran his own business, albeit poorly, loose his house? YES! Just have to know how to slip D.C a few bucks and you'll be OK! This is nuts and I am sick of it, I don't care if you're the CEO of Exxon, I'm not paying for your mistakes anymore. You screwed it up and you can fix it. There should be a law that punishes the CEO's, CFO's and any other initialized positions for mismanagement of a company. You don't get a huge bonus for cooking the books to make it appear that evreything is ok. You don't get to keep your $10 million dollar house, you don't get to keep your country club membership, and I don't get charged for your screw ups. The only people suffering as the golden parachutes start opening are the employees that were stupid enough to trust the management and the tax payers. Washington needs to stop making payments to the "good ol' boy" network. |

Personally I'm only 13 years old , and I can see the rhyme and reason to why the Ceo only bails out the 'mega companies.' To explain my point have you ever seen the movie -Dick and Jane? If you have you should get where i'm coming from but if you haven't seen it you may not quite get my point. The fact is that the goverment has to bail out these major companies, because if they didn't thousands of Americans would lose their jobs. But thousands of American lose their jobs everyday, but what if the goverment quit bailing out these major companies? We would have a serious problem because if its a major worldwide company possibly -give or take a few-millions would lose their jobs. But here you complain because you have to pay taxes for those who need their jobs to support their families, making up the lame excuse that its unfair they only try to save the mega companies. And you are right at that point that they should save more companies other than the mega companies. But even if they can't help the smaller companies they are right because they are saving thousands of peoples jobs. Even if they can't save them all they still help make a difference that all Americans should be grateful for. And if you got a problem with it and are to selfish to pay the taxes that might one day save your job if you work for a major company and it one day is near bankrupt, maybe you should move to Austraila our somewhere else if you don't like it. |

MissRutt, I think you skipped your econ 101 class..your argument is so flawed it is not even worth commenting on
