On September 9, 2007, during the Patriots/Jets game at the Meadowlands, Jets Security personnel caught a Patriots cameraman filming the Jets' Defensive signals during the game. This is the same cameraman who was caught in a similar scandal just last year. The league has since found the Patriots and their coach Bill Belichick guilty of violating league rules, and using wireless technology to steal defensive signals. The benefit of stealing signals was evident in last sunday's game, where the Jets weren't able to sack Patriots QB Tom Brady all day. Also, the Patriots have been a notoriously great team in the 2nd half of football games, presumably after being able to review tape of an opponent's signals. Meanwhile, players and coaches from around the league have come out with their own suspicioons that the Patriots have been cheating for years. In the 2006 AFC Championship game, the Patriots were prohibited from having any cameramen on the field for this very reason. Bill Bellichick has always been a man of questionable moral character. The married head coach recently admitted to carrying on an affair with a New Jersey woman. The Patriots have cheated the league, the Jets, and the fans out of a fair competitive football game. They should be forced to forfeit a win or lose top draft picks as punishment. |

Speaking as a New Yorker,and a Jet fan,I dont think it helped the Patriots enough to make a difference.They are playing ridiculously good right now,Brady has thrown for 27 touchdowns for Christs sake!Randy moss,Wes Welker,Donte Stallworth.The punishment they recieved was enough. |
