we keep arguing back and forth on this one we argue about online sex, oral sex any kind really I believe that no matter what it is it's technically cheating online sex is an affair anyway you look at it it is sharing an itimate moment with someone other than your mate and physically touching someone other than your mate I consider to be an affair if it is meant in a sexaul manner there is a difference between an innocent hug with a friend and oral sex or touching that is intimate with anyone other than your mate.

I want to start by saying I speak from experience on both sides. I have been cheated on(always meaningless sex) and I have cheated by developing feelings for another, while with my significant other.

I believe that putting yourself in a situation that will make you, or your significant other(if caught or confessed), question the whole relationship, is cheating. Denial and excuses do not matter, because no one innocently gets into these situations.

That being said, I believe that even with it being cheating, everyone still has to determine for their situation if it is forgivable or not. I think we are all vulnerable to lust, but we have self control to avoid letting it ruin a relationship, and alcohol is never an excuse.

Cheating is going behind your partner's back to do anything that is off limits. Each couple has to set their own lines and the lines are set by each person. Some couples allow very intimate moments while other couples dont want the other to share a "too friendly" hello. I know some people in open relationships who still have rules as to what cheating is even though the lines are well beyond what others would draw. Basically if you do anything that you are worried your partner will find out about, then you have cheated.

I do not think it is that bad. I am not saying any situation that makes someone jealous, I am saying any situation that puts the WHOLE relationship in doubt by you or your significant other. So if you have feelings for an ex, or a friend, and you know that it would be easy to be tempted, or if your other half thinks you would be tempted, that is what I am talking about.

under djgumps test you couldn't even talk with someone from the opposite sex since you always are putting yourself in a position to cheat

I feel like cheating is whatever takes time away from your significant other. If you are spending time "flirting" with someone online, that is time you could be spending on bettering your relationship with your partner.
