MY BEST FRIEND IS A GUY

My best friend is a guy. We go out drinking together, go to the beach, the library, sit near each other in class, sleepover his house (he's on the couch!) and even will pick up the phone to call each other. I do have a best-girl friend as well as a ton of girl friends....he is just a really great guy. And although he is attractive, as I am the furthest thing from his type, he is definitely the furthest from mine. I have heard on several occassions that there is no way that a guy can simply be your friend - even if a guy wont admit it, they are always trying to hook up with you in the back of their minds. Or, because we are together alot, one of us must be in love with the other. I do not think think that this is always the case - I think he really just gets me....and actually enjoys hanging out with me....and I know he gets a good laugh hearing some of the stupid things that other guys do. Besides - I think its safe to say that the poor boy has heard enough to be completely turned off and running by this point! He is my best-friend. |

If he is not interested in you, I still say there is an alterior motive. He may be interested in being with one of your friends or he may thrive off of your style as a woman; which he himself desires relinquish within himself. There could be the "closet syndrome" going on inside of him that is trying to come out. Question: Does he date other women? Have you seen this for yourself? If so, how do the dates feel about the time that he is spending with you? Although you may be best friends, it is not healthy eluding a social relationship with a significant other. |

looks like the right party won this one. Kimsing, your best friends probably don't want to date you but I guarantee they are hoping for a threesome on one drunken night.

I think that's ridiculous. My two best friends are guys. They both date regularly. (Actually, they both currently have girlfriends.) I guarantee they have no interest in me. The possibility of our dating has been broached and thrown out with both of them. However, I have been friends with them both for years. LawGirl, I support you.

i wouldn't go as far as to say your friend is "in the closet" but I would say that he definitely wants to hook up with you.
