I've been living with this person for about 3 years now, and I've known her for about 19years. It's been super rocky ever since we've moved in together. I was really hesitant on moving in with her in the first place. Our friendship has been really rocky for a while now, and it's just getting worse as time goes on. She's super messy, doesn't pay for her cats food/litter etc..., and is just moody in general. I know I'm not perfect either, but there's only so much a person can take before it's time to say enough is enough.
I've talked my roommatee before about moving out. I need to find someplace thats cheaper before I start school. I've expressed this desire many times before.
Recently I found someone I trust who is looking for a roommate. This conversation came up literally 2 day's ago, and I told her yesterday what the plan was going to be. We had been bouncing the idea around before, but had never really made any solid plans until just now.
I'd be moving out in November. That's 2 months notice. Which is more than what most people give. I've also stated that she could keep the deposit as an apology for the short notice, and if need be I could help her out with rent for November. So that's technically 3 months notice.
But she just isn't having it at all. She got really upset and said that I was basically "Throwing her out on her ass". Her words not mine. I feel like 2-3 months is a lot of time to find a replacement. I feel like I've been pretty reasonable during his whole thing, but this is why I'm here asking other people what they think of the situation. Am I being reasonable or a dick?
