BARRY BONDS AND THE HR* TITLE
Epicurus`s Argument

With all the evidence and allegations surrounding Barry Bonds it is obvious that he has done steroids throughout his pro career. In my mind steroid use is cheating. It is giving yourself an unfair advantage over other players that go about it naturally. Even more, think about what message steroid use is sending to not only the adult public, but the youth who idolize and model these powerful figures. Ignoring the damage that he has done to himself, based on his explicit CHEATING and the harmful message that he is sending to our youth, Bonds deserves no recognition, no celebration when he reaches the HR mark, and should dealt with firmly and significantly by the MLB.

Lets not jump the gun here and start tearing bonds apart before a fair defense is made. Right now I don't think it is clear whether Bonds used steroids or not. There may be overwhelming evidence pointing to the idea that he did, but in this country (the blessed USA) people are innocent until proven guilty, not the
other way around. With that said, it appears that the modern athletes have predominently turned into substance abusing phenoms, whether it be steroids, alcohol or the always classic cocaine. Therefore shouldn't Bonds atleast be credited with the hr title, I mean if we take it from him don't we have to take it from McGuire and Sosa?
